Integrative Practicum Preparation Workshop

This interactive workshop offers Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner students an opportunity to review and refresh their advanced health assessment and therapeutic skills through a hands-on approach. This workshop is beneficial in preparing students for an Integrative Practicum course and will increase confidence in clinical practice, which demands proficiency in conducting comprehensive and focused physical examinations as well as determining therapeutic options. Students who attend the workshop will build on the foundational skills required for completion of the Integrative Practicum Course.

Note: This workshop is only open to Nurse Practitioner students enrolling in the Integrative Practicum course for Intersession/Summer 2019. Enrollment is limited. Register by April 10, 2019 to secure your spot.

Participants will:

  • Develop proficiency in administering a complete independent physical assessment.
  • Investigate areas to concentrate their efforts in order to be successful in conducting focused history and physical examinations.
  • Practice the hands-on components, including prescription writing.
  • Review verbal feedback on their performance throughout the workshop.
