Audience joins the party for University Players production

Audience members attending the University Players production of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress this week don’t just watch a show—they enter into the ostentatious wedding reception as guests.

The lobby of Essex Hall outside its theatre is transformed into a reception hall, with white tulle, a disc jockey, and even members of the cast leading group dances.

The play follows five reluctant and identically clad bridesmaids as they hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. These five very different women discover a common bond in this wickedly funny and sincere celebration of friendship, acceptance and wedding bells.

Performances continue through April 13: Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. For information or tickets, call 519-253-3000, ext. 2808, or visit www.UniversityPlayers.com.
