Panel to discuss impact of radicalization on Muslim community

Why does a person raised in the West decide to fight overseas? What are the national security concerns in relation to these individuals? What do Islamophobia, foreign policy, and media coverage have to do with this?

A panel will discuss “Violent Radicalization and its Impact on Muslims” on Wednesday, November 26, at 6 p.m. in the CAW Student Centre’s Ambassador Auditorium.

Panelists include:

  • Faisal Kutty, professor of law at Valparaiso University;
  • Mohammad Robert Heft, founder of P4E Support Group and counter-terrorism expert;
  • Doug Best, RCMP superintendent heading national security operations in Ontario.

Organized by the Muslim Students Association, the free public discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
