MSW studentApplications are now open for the Master of Social Work for Working Professionals program.

Sessions to offer information on MSW program for working professionals

As a student in the Master of Social Work for Working Professionals program, Riham Al Saad benefited from the expertise and guidance of her instructors. Now pursuing doctoral studies, she says the masters program gave her the tools to further her education.

“I was in constant communication with my professors about my questions, academic goals, population of interest and methods of enhancing my experience, knowledge, and understanding of phenomena of interest,” she says. “I was able to learn the different methodologies that could be implemented, methods of formulating a research question, proposing a research study and key elements to a research study.”

The program, unique in Canada, conducts weekend classes in Peel and Oshawa as well as in Windsor. That allows for students to earn a master’s degree while holding a full-time job.

Entrants with a bachelor’s degree in social work qualify for a 16-month advanced standing program. Those who have earned an honours degree in a discipline other than social work participate in the 32-month regular track.

The program is currently accepting applications for September 2017 admission. Find more information on the program website.

Public sessions in Toronto on February 9 and Mississauga on February 10 will provide details about the program, the various campus offerings, admission requirements and the field placement component. Find a schedule of these, and monthly webinar presentations, here.
