Consultations to strengthen community-engaged practice

A team from the University of Windsor is working to collect information that highlights community-engaged research, service, and teaching on campus.

“Consultations with faculty, staff, students, and community partners are key to our goal of understanding how successful partnerships have been formed on campus, and what can be done to better support partnerships and partnership development going forward,” says Cheryl Collier, chair of the Carnegie Community Engagement Pilot Steering Committee.

“As part of this effort, the University is also participating in a national pilot of the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification which has been an exceptional opportunity to share ideas and best practices with institutions across the country.”

Consultations with faculty and staff are now underway. Faculty and staff are invited to provide input by:

Alternatively, faculty and staff are welcome to provide input during a group consultation over coffee on April 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Freed Orman Centre. Find event details and registration.

The research team would like to hear from as many faculty and staff as possible by April 1.

“A lot of work goes into initiating, developing, and maintaining meaningful partnerships in our community, and the scope and diversity of that work is truly inspiring,” says Dr. Collier. “Our goal is to raise awareness of the amazing contributions of campus and community partners, and to learn about how the University could support this work more effectively.”
