checkered flag denoting start of competitionThe Let’s Get Moving Virtual Team Challenge got underway Monday, but it isn’t too late for UWindsor staff and faculty to join the competition.

More than 50 teams sign on to activity challenge

More than 50 teams enrolled for the Let’s Get Moving Virtual Team Challenge by its start date Monday, and organizers emphasize it isn’t too late to register.

The competition offers prizes in an effort to encourage UWindsor employees to stay healthy, connected, and active while working from home.

Draws will be held weekly through May 8; reaching the 50 team milestone prompted the addition of a prize just for registering by the initial draw Tuesday, April 21. Participants earn credit for engaging in physical activity; each 10 minutes is worth two metres of virtual “climbing” toward a team goal. Find more information and an online registration form on the Let’s Get Moving Virtual Team Challenge website.

The Virtual Fitness webpage features suitable fitness activities, including a 30 minute workout led by Sandra Ondracka of Lancer Recreation, with an invitation to join free lunch-hour fitness classes, shared live through Microsoft Teams.
