Collective bargaining continues with CUPE 1393 and WUFA

Bargaining discussions continue with the University of Windsor and CUPE 1393 with the assistance of a mediator appointed by the Ministry of Labour on September 28, 29 and 30. The University remains confident that an agreement can be reached.

University administration has learned from the Ministry of Labour that a No Board report has been issued at the request of CUPE 1393, putting them in a legal strike position at 12:01 a.m. on October 1. In the unlikely event of a strike, classes will continue and the University will remain open with a reduced number of services available.

All updates will be posted on this site: http://www.uwindsor.ca/bargainingunits.

CUPE 1393 represents approximately 227 technical, trades and professional staff at the University of Windsor.

Mediation scheduled with WUFA: October 4 and 5

The University of Windsor was informed Friday, September 23, that the Windsor University Faculty Association has requested a No Board report, which means that the union could be in legal strike position 17 days after it is issued. The University still awaits the union’s response to its most recent offer. Mediation talks are scheduled for October 4 and 5, and the University remains confident that a fair and reasonable settlement can be reached.
