Concerto Showcase concert an opportunity for soloists and orchestra to shine

Four music students will perform as soloists with the Windsor Community Orchestra at the Concerto Showcase, in Assumption University Chapel on Sunday, February 5, at 2:30 p.m.

The four are were ranked at the top of last semester’s performance competition in the School of Music:

  • Tuba player Bryan Clendenan will solo in Edward Gregson’s Tuba Concerto;
  • Soprano Christina Bell will sing Scena di Berenice by Joseph Haydn;
  • Taylor Unis will play the vibraphone part in Emmanuel Séjourné’s Concerto pour vibraphone et orchestre à cordes ; and
  • Mezzo-soprano Amelia Daigle will sing “Chanson Bohème” from Georges Bizet’s Carmen.

The program will also feature Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D major, III. Feierlich und gemessen.
