Cultural festival promises global experience

The flags, foods and fashions of varied cultures will take centre stage in the CAW Student Centre Commons on Wednesday during the Celebration of Nations.

The multicultural festival will start with a parade of flags leaving the corner of Sunset and University avenues at 10:30 a.m. and head to the centre for exhibitions and performances from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Groups representing Bangladesh, Ghana, India, Iraq, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia have confirmed their participation, along with several campus services. Learn more on the event Web site.

Marketplace menu spicing things up

The Marketplace food court in the CAW Student Centre is joining in the celebration with world cuisines for both lunch and dinner.

Tuesday will offer flavours of the Indian subcontinent: butter chicken; chana and cauliflower masala; and curry beef, each served with naan bread or aromatic basmati rice.

Go south of the border on Wednesday, with a Mexican menu featuring vegetable escabeche Dona Vito; bone-in chicken breast with apricot mole; and beef rib chili.
