#2012-13-09 Career Development Coordinator ‘VI’ in the Centre for Career Education

Reporting to the Director of the Centre for Career Education, this position develops, coordinates and assesses career-related programs, services and resources on campus. The successful applicant will be responsible for meeting the career development needs of students and recent alumni in all programs through the provision of a wide variety of activities including workshops, class presentations, individual appointments, on-line resources and social media applications, mock interviews and interest assessment. Topics include but are not limited to career planning, job search skills, labour market information, resume and cover letter writing, interview skills, negotiating salaries, professional school applications and more. Additional responsibilities include overseeing an employment posting system, specialized programming for identified student groups and a Peer Career Educator Program. Coordination of a number of events is also required (e.g. a Job Fair, a Continuing Education Fair, a Career Expo, employer information sessions and program-specific employment events). This position acts as the point of contact not only for students, but for hiring employers and faculty and must also successfully build and maintain relationships with campus and community partners.
