Engineering relocation restricts traffic behind Essex Hall

The Office of Facility Services is requesting the co-operation of all departments to reduce as much as possible all vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the west side of Essex Hall through October 19—the duration of the move of the Faculty of Engineering to the Centre for Engineering Innovation.

“That’s a narrow laneway that is heavily congested at the best of times with the normal deliveries to the building,” says Neil Musson, manager of space management. “During the move period, there will be so many large trucks shuttling in and out with heavy equipment and furniture. For everybody’s safety, it’s best if they can avoid that area.”

He said the department will continue to issue reminders during the extended period of the move.
