Collective bargaining update for CUPE 1001

Bargaining discussions continued this week with CUPE Local 1001 on September 3 and 4 with the help of a conciliator.

University administration has learned from the Ministry of Labour that a No Board report has been issued at the request of CUPE 1001, with a deadline of 12:01 a.m. on Monday, September 23, which puts them in a legal strike position and the University in a legal lockout position at that time. The University will continue to meet with CUPE Local 1001 with the assistance of a mediator on September 17 through 20. The University remains confident that an agreement can be reached.

CUPE 1001 represents 118 full-time and 202 part-time housekeeping, grounds, maintenance and food services staff.
