Workshop charts course of college-university cooperation

A workshop Tuesday brought together faculty and administrators from the University of Windsor, St. Clair College and Lambton College to discuss ways to make it easier for students to earn both a college diploma and a university degree.

In total, about 60 participants attended the event in the Freed-Orman Centre, entitled “Credit Transfer: Projects, Pathways and Partnerships.”

“The workshop went very well,” said psychology professor Shelagh Towson, UWindsor coordinator of College-University Partnerships. “This is the inaugural event in the establishment of a southwestern Ontario community of practice.”

A highlight of the day’s discussions was a keynote address by Glenn Craney, executive director of the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer, Dr. Towson says.
