Banquet honours OPUS award recipients

The 22nd annual Organization of Part-time University Students Awards Banquet on Thursday, March 20, recognized 14 award recipients—and 150 guests who came in support the winners.

“It was an exceptional celebration of OPUS’s 45 years of existence and for acknowledging those outstanding individuals who make our university a unique place and those students that lead the way to a successful future,” said executive director Maryan Amalow.

The evening included dance performances by UWindsor student members of the Hoa Sen Dance Team and a musical performance by DJ Shauhrat Gill. A special video presentation will be available online soon. Event sponsors included the University of Windsor Alumni Association, Green Shield, Campus Dental Centre, Morneau Shepell, Fast Signs and Campus Bookstore.

“Thanks to the OPUS Board members and work study students for their help and support in making this event a successful one yet again,” Amalow said. “It was a pleasure having you all there and we are humbled to be a part of this wonderful university community.”

Pictures of the evening’s festivities will be posted to the OPUS website soon, she said.
