System upgrade to disrupt access to library databases

The disruption to services during the network upgrade set for Saturday extends to library databases, including ejournals, ebooks and the library catalogue, notes the associate dean of the library, Joan Dalton.

IT Services is migrating to a new network core that will improve connections speed and reliability. The move, starting at 6 a.m. March 28, will disrupt online services for up to eight hours.

Those services will include the library’s online services, whether accessed from off-campus, on-campus, or within the library building. The Leddy Library will be open to patrons for all other purposes through the day.

During the migration process, IT Services staff will provide periodic status updates on the HelpDesk phone message at 519-253-3000, ext. 4440.
