UWindsor acting alumnus gets mobile in new role

Chris GeorgeUWindsor alumnus Chris George (Hon. BFA ‘11), is performing in Windsor as part of the popular CBC Kid's TV show The Moblees’ promotional tour, June 19 and 20, 28 and  August 29 at Devonshire Mall. The show helps inspire kids to be more active and make healthier lifestyle choices.

George, an actor, writer, poet, singer, and voice-over artist, can currently be seen every morning at 8 a.m. on CBC as one of the Moblees active characters, living in the whimsical world of Terra Mova, and inviting children to join the action.

“With this day and age of technology, the show’s fun dance moves and catchy lyrics encourage kids to be active, and be a Moblee themselves from home,” says George.

The actor says he finds interacting with his young audience exciting.

“They all look up to the stage doing their Moblee moves, shrugging their shoulders, waggling their arms, jumping for joy.”

George plays Gisbert Grasshopper, the sciencey, brainy guy - a little neurotic and a thinker.

“Gisbert loves hoping, jumping, leaping and anything grasshoppers love to do,” says George.

“He always comes up with movement inventions.”

Since graduation George has performed in 13 plays and six television shows. He auditioned for the Moblees back in 2013 and started shooting for the show in mid-May. Previously, the Moblees was a live stage show in the U.S., even performing at the White House during the annual Easter Egg Roll.
