Basketball, men’s hockey set for weekend home stands

Lancer basketball will play its last home games of the calendar year this weekend, while the men’s hockey team will host Lakehead on Friday and Saturday.

The Lancer men’s hockey team is looking improve on its 6-5-1 record when it faces off against the winless Thunderwolves. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. both days at South Windsor Arena.

Basketball will tip off against the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday. The Windsor women are currently tied for first in Ontario University Athletics’ west division. They will play at 2 p.m. in the St. Denis Centre. The Lancer men are also tied for the divisional lead and will tip off at 4 p.m.

Fans are also reminded that the Lancer Holiday Clothing Drive runs through until Saturday; organizers encourage donations of gently used warm clothing at the games. Each donation will earn a chance to win a Lancer Holiday Prize pack. A winner will be selected at half-time of the men’s basketball game.

Women’s hockey and both volleyball teams are playing on the road Friday and Saturday.

The volleyball squads will take to the court Friday in Waterloo against the Warriors and Saturday against the McMaster Marauders. Women’s hockey will face off against the Queens Gaels on Friday and the UOIT Ridgebacks on Saturday.
