Stress management program on offer for parents/teachers of kids with ADHD

A program led by UWindsor psychologist Carlin Miller and aimed at parents and teachers of children with diagnosed ADHD will begin a new eight-week session Thursday, September 29, at Hotel Dieu-Grace Healthcare on Prince Road.

Participants will learn how to use mindfulness—which includes gentle stretching, breathing techniques, and sitting meditations—to deal with the challenges that arise in parenting and teaching. The latest research and how to apply mindfulness activities to children with ADHD will also be discussed.

Classes will take place one evening per week and will also include a day-long retreat. Fee for materials is $75. For details and to register, contact Dr. Miller at cjmiller@uwindsor.ca, or 519-253-3000, ext. 2226.
