Retirement to close campus career of more than 30 years

Colleagues and friends of Sylvia Allison will have a chance to wish the UWindsor staffer best wishes on her retirement as she leaves campus employ.

A specialist in graduate and professional applications for the Office of the Registrar, Allison’s last day in the post is February 28. Her career at the University of Windsor began in 1984 and includes stints in the dean of science’s office, history department, and faculty of education.

A highlight was receiving the President’s Achievement Award in 2006 for her demonstrated dedication, accomplishment, and involvement. Letters in support of her nomination cited her professionalism, knowledge and experience.

While she appreciates the opportunities afforded her by the University — including a BA in psychology completed in 2010 — Allison is looking forward to retiring. Her co-workers have organized a drop-in reception to bid her farewell in the Registrar’s Office staff room, Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
