Toque to warm up contest winner

Shelly Scurr, administrative support to the assistant dean of engineering, won Wednesday’s DailyNews trivia contest and the cool prize of a toque donated by the University of Windsor Alumni Association.

Scurr’s entry was drawn from all those which correctly identified 1972 as the warmest January 22 in Windsor history before this week; the Yukon village of Snag as recording the coldest temperature in Canada: -63° C on February 2, 1947; and Windsor as having the country’s highest average annual temperature from 2010 to 2012.

She will receive the blue-and-gold toque, made of luxurious acrylic and topped with a genuine pompom, with the alumni association logo embroidered on the brim.
