Veteran voice actor to present workshop on profession

A maximum of 20 registrants will learn about the world of voice acting at a workshop by UWindsor drama alumna Elley-Ray Hennessy (BFA 1979, LLDhc 2015), April 21 and 22.

“The Magic of Voice” will share some of what Hennessy has learned in a 30-year career as a voice actor — exercises to create characters and expand vocal range, techniques to bring a script to life, tips to success in auditioning and the basics of the business, and more.

One of the busiest voice-over artists in North America, she has appeared in thousands of television and radio commercials, animated series, and feature films. Hennessy’s credits include childhood favourites like the Canadian-produced television shows Babar, Franklin, and Sidekick.

The workshop is open to faculty, staff, and students in all programs. The $250 registration fee includes the workshop, lunch, and snacks. To register, contact Maureen Haggith in the School of Dramatic Art at mhaggith@uwindsor.ca or 519-253-3000, ext. 2804.
