Campus team seeking donations in support of local humane society

Calling all dog, cat, and small animal lovers: the University of Windsor’s Nerd Olympics team is looking for campus donations to support the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society.

Made up of participants from the Information Technology Services department and the School of Computer Science, the team is competing against other local technology organizations to raise donations.

Team member Mike Fisher says the organization, which promotes animal welfare and maintains an adoption shelter, provides a valuable community service.

“The refuge and compassionate care the Humane Society gives pets is so vital to those who have been lost, abandoned, or abused,” he says. “Your support is greatly needed and appreciated!”

The service desk in the University Computer Centre will accept contributions of cash, gift cards, Canadian Tire money or items from the society’s “wish list” until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 24.
