Running back Jacob Savoni notched 179 yards and three touchdowns to lead Lancer football to a 34-17 victory over the York Lions in the season opener for both teams Sunday, Aug. 25, at Alumni Field.
Savoni was part of a balanced Windsor attack that gained 199 yards on the ground and 192 in the air in the debut of head coach Jean-Paul Circelli’s offensive scheme. Kick returner Carson Ouellette contributed 204 yards on special teams, including a 96-yard runback of a punt.

The Lancers will next play the Varsity Blues in Toronto, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. The game will be webcast live by OUA.tv. The squad will return home to host the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, Sept. 7.
