Windsor Wednesday Show celebrates first anniversary

Yesterday — April 15 — marked one year since the airing of the first episode of the Windsor Wednesday Show.

What started as a passion project by Odette student Linden Crain has transformed into regular recurring weekly show, each Wednesday at noon.

Supported by the Office of Student Experience, the show aims to bring the UWindsor community together as students, staff, and faculty continue to work and study remotely, providing a virtual platform for viewers to hear first-hand why individuals are proud to be a part of the UWindsor community.

In one year, the show has produced 40 episodes featuring 120 guests from the UWindsor community, reaching more than 125,000 views across platforms.

Crain has recently decided to step down from his role as the host, sharing that “it is time to pass the baton to another student to help continue this weekly show” in a video released by the Office of Student experience yesterday.

“As the host, it truly has been a rewarding and unforgettable experience,” Crain said. “It has been inspiring being able to meet and learn from a variety of students, faculty, staff, and alumni from different backgrounds, hearing their unique UWindsor stories. I look forward to continue watching the show grow and develop over the next year.”

The show will take a short break over the summer months, as the Office of Student Experience searches for a new host, but will resume in the fall semester with a new line-up of episodes and guests.

“It has been so great to work with Linden over the past year and to see him grow and develop alongside the show,” says Sarah Hébert, who has been working with Crain to produce the show since its inception.

“The next host will have some big shoes to fill, but I know that there is a student out there who is up for the challenge.”
