Contract academic stafferEvents this week will highlight issues of fair employment for contract academic staff.

Events to raise awareness of fair employment issues

Fair Employment Week, Oct. 18 to 22, is aimed at raising awareness about precarious employment at UWindsor and other campuses and to support the Windsor University Faculty Association’s efforts to improve working conditions of contract academic staff.

In light of COVID-19, the association will not hold any face-to-face activities during Fair Employment Week, but the Canadian Association of University Teachers has organized online events for contract academic staff across the country to come together and discuss the issues they are facing.

Online events will include:

  • a social media day of action on Wednesday, Oct. 20
  • A Zoom social on Friday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. for contract academic staff to discuss strategies to improve working conditions and join together in celebration of the work and contributions they make to universities and colleges.
