Quiz winner claims prize package

Heather Holmes of Facility Services has won a copy of the 2022 Legacy Collexion poster by Robert Small (BA 1993) along with an assortment of swag from the University of Windsor Alumni Association by emerging triumphant in Monday’s trivia quiz on local Black history.

Monday’s questions included a stumper — no respondent identified Jim Walls as Windsor’s first Black elementary school principal.

Holmes’ entry was drawn from all those which got four right: that the African Diaspora Youth Conference began at the University of Windsor in 2004, the Amherstburg Freedom Museum was formerly called the North American Black Historical Museum, Juanita Westmoreland-Traore was the pioneering Black woman dean of Windsor Law, and SportsCentre host Jermain Franklin (BA 1999) was a member of the “Black Excellence in the Media” panel.

This marks the conclusion of the Black history quiz series, but organizers encourage DailyNews readers to continue to explore the subject year-round.
