In the Fall of 2020, in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic, the University of Windsor launched the Windsor Proud Because annual giving campaign. It has wrapped now having raised more than $1.1 million for needs across campus, including scholarships, academic initiatives, athletics, and the physical transformation of the campus.
The name had a dual meaning: as a reminder of the important work the University does within the greater community and as a call to reflect on what the University of Windsor means to individuals and why contributors choose to invest in its work.
“Donors to the campaign were asked for one word that best described their reasons for making a gift,” says campaign co-ordinator Chris Knack in Alumni Relations and Advancement. “It has been very inspiring to see the importance the University has in the lives of our many supporters.”

“All gifts, no matter the size, truly make a difference to our students and our campus,” Knack says. “A very big thank you to all donors to this campaign, for your financial support as well as the personal reflection of your own considerations in giving back to our campus.”
