Festival calls for fast filmmaking

Can you write, shoot, edit, and deliver a finished film in just two days? That’s the challenge set by the Mark Boscariol 48-Hour FlickFest, a competition organized by the Windsor International Film Festival.

“Gather your friends and family, cameras and iPhones, and your creative spirit and participate in an exciting and rewarding competition,” says WIFF executive director Vincent Georgie, UWindsor associate vice-president, external.

Participants are given a line of dialogue, a character trait, and a prop and must incorporate all three in their projects. The juried competition offers $1,350 in prizes, the screening of selected films, and presentation of eight awards Nov. 4 as part of WIFF.

“We encourage sign-ups of all age ranges, talent and experience levels, and from any city in Canada or around the world,” Dr. Georgie says.

The 48 hours will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 23. Find more details and team registration on the WIFF website.
