United Way planning for winter fundraising campaign

Organizers of the campus campaign for United Way are planning a focused one-week fundraising drive in the winter semester but want to assure supporters their donations are being put to good use.

“The United Way’s Cradle to Career approach provides supports to children from their birth to the start of their working lives, leveraging investments from a broad cross-section of community partners,” says Vincent Georgie, chair of the UWindsor committee and acting associate vice-president, external.

“The University is committed to this partnership and we’re excited to be launching a refreshed campaign early next year, so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.”

In the meantime, he offers this guidance to donors:

  • Those who give by continuous payroll deduction will see their current contributions rolled over automatically into January.
  • Contributions from those who have given by payroll deduction will end with the final pay period of 2022. To extend into next year, contact Sheri Lowrie at sherio@uwindsor.ca.
  • Donations by cash, cheque, or credit card donors for the 2022 tax year may be made online at www.weareunited.com/donate/.
