Grace QuanA Jan. 23 conversation with Hydrogen in Motion president Grace Quan will kick off the Law and Entrepreneurship SpeakHER Series.

Series to explore intersection of law and entrepreneurship

Grace Quan, president of Hydrogen in Motion, will join Kaamil Ali Khalfan, a student in the Master of Business Administration-Juris Doctor program, for a conversation as the first entry in a series of events exploring the intersection of law and entrepreneurship.

The Law and Entrepreneurship SpeakHER Series is a collaboration between the Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) and Myra Tawfik, Don Rodzik Family Chair in Law and Entrepreneurship. It will engage small businesses and, in particular, women entrepreneurs, to ensure full participation in the innovation economy.

Prof. Tawfik said the series will provide a forum for women founders to speak about their experiences navigating the law and the legal profession.

“It also affords future lawyers the opportunity to learn from these accomplished speakers about the ways in which the law and lawyers can either support or hinder women-led small and medium-sized enterprises,” she said.

Previous to leading Hydrogen in Motion, Quan worked for the Canadian International Development Agency, in the foreign service, and as a senior advisor to the Treasury Board, responsible for managing Canada’s $250-billon annual budget.

Her UWindsor presentation is offered over Zoom and is free, at noon Monday, Jan. 23. Register here to attend.
