This award is given each year to honour individuals who demonstrate the spirit of equity leadership through their contributions to creating an equity culture on campus. It is named to honour Dietz, a late UWindsor faculty member and head of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology, for her contributions to the advancement of women in Canadian universities and colleges.

A release announcing the award called Prof. Moon “a champion of equity in his career as a teacher and scholarly writer,” as well as a respected expert through his media work.

Among his awards, he has twice won the University of Windsor’s Research Recognition Award, and he has been received the Students Law Society Teaching Award and the Award for Outstanding Contribution to University Teaching from the University of Windsor Alumni Association. Learn more about Moon’s achievements and the Mary Lou Dietz Equity Leadership Award on the association’s website.

The awards presentation is set for 4:30 p.m. on May 14 at Kerr House, 366 Sunset Avenue. RSVP by May 9, by e-mail at wufa@uwindsor.ca or by phone at 519-253-3000, ext. 3365.
