Dutch treat

The University of Windsor Students’ Alliance is “thrilled” with the line-up of performing artists for the Coming Home Music Festival, September 4 at the Riverside Festival Plaza, vice president social Ivona Bilbilovska said Wednesday in announcing DJ Nicky Romero as the headline act.

“We will once again make Windsor dance the night away to the best electronic sounds in the world alongside Windsor’s beautiful riverfront,” she said. “We are excited to announce that the UWSA will be offering students and the public in Windsor a world-class music festival that enhances school and community spirit by celebrating the end of summer and welcomes new and returning students to Windsor.”

Romero, a 24-year-old native of the Netherlands, was ranked number 17 on DJMag’s 2012 Top 100 DJ list.

“Nicky has yet to play in the Windsor area and we are thrilled to have secured such an amazing artist,” Bilbilovska said.

Joining Romero on the festival bill are Windsor’s own DJ and producer Josh Karmin and Denver-based Sydney Blu. Organizers plan to announce additional performers soon.
