Programming competition a “proud moment” for School of Computer Science

With a finish in the top three province-wide, teams from the University of Windsor enjoyed an outstanding result in the regionals of the International Collegiate Programming Competition, says a local organizer.

“This a very proud moment for the School of Computer Science and UWindsor, a demonstration of high-quality students and programs in software development training that are gaining international recognition,” says Ziad Kobti, director of the school, which hosted 23 teams for the competition under the aegis of the Association for Computing Machinery.

The Windsor blue team placed 18th of 130 in the region. Overall, the top three Ontario universities were Waterloo, Toronto and Windsor.

Dr. Kobti says winners will receive individual recognition at the school’s awards ceremony later this year.
