Lancer teams to play last home games of 2017 this weekend

This weekend marks the last chance for Lancer fans to see teams in action this semester, with contests for men’s and women’s squads in basketball and hockey on offer.

First up, the women’s basketball team will hit the court in the St. Denis Centre at 6 p.m. Friday, December 1, to tip off against the Nipissing Lakers. The men’s teams will play at 8 p.m.

Women’s hockey will face off against the Laurentian Voyageurs at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the rechristened Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex, formerly South Windsor Arena. The Windsor squad will return to the ice Saturday, December 2, to host Nipissing; game time is 4 p.m.

Men’s hockey will take on the Guelph Gryphons in the same venue at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

And basketball will bounce back into the St. Denis Centre for action against Laurentian on Saturday, with the men playing at 4 p.m. and the women at 6 p.m.

At each of these contests, the Department of Athletics and Recreation will accept donations of children’s coats, hats, and mittens, as well as other clothing items and cash for its annual Holiday Clothing Drive.

Anyone who makes a charitable contribution of any kind will receive a ballot for a chance to win a Lancer holiday prize pack, with a winner announced at the basketball doubleheader on December 2.
