Speaker to discuss link between population growth and housing prices

A public presentation today — Thursday, July 8 — will discuss the relationship between population growth and housing prices in Ontario.

Rapid growth in the province’s population fundamentally changed how and where residents live, work, and play and sparked a housing price boom that continues to this day, says business professor Mike Moffatt of Western University, senior director at the Smart Prosperity Institute.

His lecture, entitled “Ontarians on the Move,” is part of the Envision community speaker series, which offers thought-provoking discussion about what’s next in our post-COVID future.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the Microsoft Teams teleconferencing platform and is hosted by UWindsor associate vice-president external Vincent Georgie. A question-and-answer period will follow Dr. Moffatt’s formal presentation.
