The Lancer women’s hockey team will meet the Waterloo Warriors in Owen Sound on Jan. 29 as part of Hockey Day in Canada celebrations.

The four-day festivities will feature community events, hockey clinics, musical performances, and appearances by National Hockey League alumni and the Stanley Cup, culminating in a daylong broadcast on the Sportsnet channel.

Athletics director Mike Havey says the Lancers are excited to join in.

“This celebration of our national pastime has become an enduring cultural phenomenon,” he says. “We are pleased to participate in this uniquely Canadian event.”
