UWill Discover conference to be delivered on campus

With more than 115 submissions to the UWill Discover student research conference, there is a lot of work to be done, says co-chair Haiqa Arain, a fourth-year physics major.

“We are thrilled to see so much engagement and to provide an opportunity for researchers and artists at UWindsor to connect,” she says.

The conference will run both online and in person, March 29 to April 1, showcasing the work of researchers in a variety of disciplines. It has received support from sponsors across campus; see the list here.

Biology student Marta Haireek, the other conference co-chair, is excited to see in-person conference activity return.

“The UWill Discover conference is an important opportunity for students who have completed creative and research work on campus,” says Haireek. “Students need opportunities to discuss their ideas among their peer network, with faculty and staff.”

This year’s event will feature several plenary sessions focusing on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization (EDID), says faculty-staff chair Tim Brunet: “We want all presenters and attendees to feel welcome and valued.”

Registration is free to the UWindsor community, family, and friends. Find a schedule of sessions and register here.
