Turkey Bowl to showcase nationally-ranked Lancer football

The Lancer football team is back in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport top 10 after earning a 4-1 start to the season. The squad is looking to go 5-1 – its best start in 25 years – with a win Saturday, October 8, at home over the Queen’s Gaels.

To celebrate the Thanksgiving weekend, the Athletics Department has dubbed the game the “Turkey Bowl.” Staff will give away four Butterball turkeys to fans: one in each quarter. Saturday is also Windsor Minor Football Day; all children who wear a football jersey will win free admission to the stadium.

Saturday’s game will not be televised, so the only way to catch all the action is to join the fans in the stands. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Tickets are just $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and youth, available at the gate or online at www.goLancers.ca.
