Coffee will keep flowing during summer transition

Installation of the new Second Cup station in the Marketplace food court is running a little behind schedule, but campus caffeine fiends take heart – you’ll still be able to get your fix.

The Tim Horton’s outlet in the CAW Student Centre will continue operations until the Second Cup is up and running, says manager Mark Bagley.

“The utility connections are taking longer than we thought, but no worries,” he says. “If it takes an extra day, we’ll keep Tim’s open a day. And if it should take 10, we’ll keep it open for 10 days.”

He expects the installation, which will offer soups and pastries in addition to a range of hot beverages, to be completed by the end of next week.

In a change from previous years, the Marketplace will operate all summer long. Its Subway sandwich counter will serve breakfast and lunch, while Bernie’s Grill and Pizza Pizza opens during lunch hours. The outlet will continue to offer a variety of grab-and-go options, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Tim Horton’s kiosk will close, but the Tim Horton’s outlet at Dividends in the Odette Building will remain open all summer with the same selection of drinks, pastries and sandwiches.
