Law students prove value as mediators

A team of students from Windsor Law is celebrating their successes this past weekend at the Great Lakes Mediation Moot in Ann Arbor, where they received awards as top mediator team and top advocate.

Members of the team—Matt Dunnett, Amanda Fowler and Jennifer Querney, led by coaches Gerri Wong and Kaitlyn McCabe—took turns acting as lawyer, client and co-mediator.

Windsor’s performance earned it the top mediator school award; Fowler won an individual award as best advocate. Wong said she was happy with the results in competition with teams from Osgoode Hall, Michigan State, Ohio and Hastings College of the Law at the University of California.

“Kudos to Amanda, Matt and Jennifer!” she said. “And special thanks for the support and assistance of students Michael Hershop and Paul Voinea.”
