Library display puts golden glow on University history

Pieces of UWindsor history are now on display in the Leddy Library to celebrate the University’s 50th anniversary.

From the University’s first convocation program as a public institution to a spectacular costume used by University Players, a wide range of memorabilia has been donated to the display.

“Many alumni contacted us with their own personal items that they wanted to provide for the historical display,” says Jennifer Ammoscato of Public Affairs and Communications, which coordinated the effort. “Several offices on campus also contributed unique pieces. We encourage everyone to take the time to visit this glimpse into our past five decades.”

Scientific equipment, a sculpture by professor Bill Law, yearbooks, Lancer jerseys and pennants, newspapers, and textbooks are just some of the items to be found.

The display is located on the main floor in the Williams’ Coffee area.
