Culture show promises global confluence

Entertainment! Lights! Culture! These are just three of the elements of the Festival of Lights, hosted by the International Student Society at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 15, in the CAW Student Centre Commons.

“Every year, just when the herald of the glorious winter looms round the corner, we at ISS do something spectacular to electrify the campus and the community in a grand confluence of global cultures,” says society president Orlando D’Souza. “It is a celebration of the various traditions and artforms from around the world.”

Featured performances include Bollywood-style and belly dances, as well as music ranging from Spanish pop to Punjabi traditional. The event also promises free refreshments and prizes for best-dressed male and female.
