Retired psychology professor Bob Orr will assume the role of acting provost, vice-president academic, effective Monday, March 24, UWindsor president Alan Wildeman announced Monday.

Dr. Orr recently served as acting dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Dr. Wildeman said he is “delighted” that Orr is willing to step into this important role.

“I know he is committed to helping us all continue to advance the academic mission of the University of Windsor,” Wildeman said.

Leo Groarke’s last day as provost will be Friday, March 21. He will begin his appointment as president of Trent University on July 1. The search to find his successor is about to begin; Wildeman pledged to keep the campus community apprised of the progress of the search.
