There are several new features in version 2.0 of the myUWindsor mobile app.

Improvements to myUWindsor app aimed at engaging users

An update of the UWindsor mobile app for students launched Monday incorporates new features to make it more useful, say its designers.

Among the additions are the ability for students to create a shopping list of textbooks required for their classes, to paste information from the university directory into their personal contacts lists, and to see their position in the queue for any course wait list.

“We believe students will enjoy these new functions,” says John Powell, director of web communications in the Office of Public Affairs and Communications. “We are very happy to roll them out in version 2.0.”

Nick Keren, a systems analyst in Information Technology Services and the technical lead on the project, says the update also involved a fresher style and colour palette.

“We are proud of the new multi-functional list menu and the addition of an icon for the Campus Bookstore, which will highlight daily specials for users,” says Keren.

Other improvements include enhancements to the app’s DailyNews interface and features in social media. Find a full list of changes under “What’s New” on the app website.
