Contest promoting use of bicycle helmets

A contest by the University of Windsor Cyclists Association encourages bike riders to keep their brains under wraps.

“We want to bring awareness to the importance of wearing a helmet while cycling,” says club president Candice Seagull. “Show you’re riding smart and you could win a prize!”

The Bicycle Helmet Selfie Contest is open to all UWindsor students and is self-explanatory. Entrants must take a photo of themselves wearing a bicycle helmet and post it to the contest Facebook page. The three entries that receive the most likes win:

  • First place, a $25 gift card to City Cyclery, a membership in Bike Friendly Windsor-Essex, and a Cyclists Association water bottle and reflector;
  • Second place, a Bike Friendly membership, a Cyclists Association water bottle and reflector;
  • Third place, a Cyclists Association water bottle and reflector.

The contest runs through January 30. To enter or indicate your favourites, visit the Facebook page.
