Voice student hits high note in scholarship competition victory

Third-year voice student Angelica Sciacca out-performed six peers to take top honours—and the $500 prize—Sunday in the Ron W. Ianni Memorial Performance Scholarship Competition.

A soprano specializing in classical repertoire, Sciacca sang The Bird of the Wilderness” by Edward Horsman during the recital in Assumption Hall’s Heritage Room.

The annual award was established by Mina Grossman-Ianni and the School of Music in 2005 to honour the late president of the University of Windsor. Contestants win invitations from the ranks of all music majors based on their grades in the December performance juries.
