Community leaders to issue challenge for civil society

A panel of community leaders will share their experiences offering care to Windsor’s most vulnerable in a free public discussion Tuesday, October 18.

Organized by Assumption University as part of its Christian Culture Series, “Imagining Mercy in the City” will include presentations by:

  • Ron Dunn, executive director of the Downtown Mission;
  • Fr. Matthew Durham, director of community engagement and advancement for the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County;
  • Janice Kaffer, chief executive officer of Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare;
  • Carol Derbyshire, executive director of the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.

They will issue a challenge to imagine what it would take to bring about an even greater commitment to mercy and social change in the city.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, 6038 Empress Street.
