Chili cook-off to benefit children’s toy drive

A team from Food Services has entered its famous vegetarian chili in a charity lunch event today at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts.

The Windsor Firefighters’ Chilifest benefits Sparky’s Toy Drive, which provides gifts to needy children at holiday time. The event will feature 40 different recipes, from mild to hot, including the vegetarian version served on campus, most recently during open house and Fall Fest.

“It’s just one way we can give back to the community,” says executive chef Paolo Vasapolli. “This is such a good cause and helps Windsor families.”

Chilifest runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. November 9. Admission is $10 at the door. The St. Clair Centre for the Arts is located at 201 Riverside Drive West.
