Business competition prizes renamed to honour sponsor

The Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) has renamed the prizes in its EPIC Blue Sky Competition for supporter Sushil Jain, who has made a $10,000 donation to sponsor the annual event.

Sushil JainThe competition challenges teams of students to produce two-minute videos showcasing an idea to solve any problem. The top three finishers receive cash prizes, now dubbed the “Sushil Jain UWin Triple-I Awards” for the requirement to improve, innovate or invent a product or service:

  • 1st Place: $1,000, plus an additional $500 if the winner is interested in pursuing the idea beyond the competition
  • 2nd Place: $750
  • 3rd Place: $500

Additionally, the top three teams will receive a trip to Toronto to attend the Ontario Centre of Excellence Discovery Conference.

Dr. Jain is president of the South Asian Centre of Windsor. His donation and the prize naming were announced at a reception Tuesday celebrating the second anniversary of the EPICentre’s founding.
