Wind ensemble program to reflect on year of change

Between natural disasters, the political climate, and the death of formative artists that shaped our culture and worldview, 2017 has been a year of change.

The University Wind Ensemble will feature music on the themes of change, loss, and memory in its fall concert, Friday, November 24, at the Capitol Theatre, 121 University Avenue West.

In tribute to composer David Maslanka, who died in August 2017, Friday’s program will feature two of his works — the short symphony Give Us This Day and the madrigal chorale from My Lady White, performed by director Nicholas Papador on solo marimba.

The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $15; $5 for students. Learn more on the event website.
